The Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness provides individuals with essential knowledge of key mental health issues, including stress, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, and depression, with a specific focus on workplace scenarios.
Course Overview
Participants will:
- Improve communication skills
- Learn the value of active listening
- Understand how to support their peers
- Recognise when to seek immediate assistance
The course is conducted over one day, with the qualification process taking a total of seven hours, which must be completed within three weeks. During these seven hours, participants will engage in guided learning sessions led by an expert trainer, focusing on mental health issues that may arise in the workplace.
There is no expectation for participants to conduct any additional self-study beyond the hours spent in training.
Entry Requirements
This course is open to individuals aged 16 and above who are interested in becoming mental health first aiders. It is ideal for those with a strong interest in mental health and a desire to help colleagues in line with applicable laws and guidelines.
Assessment Methods
The Level 2 Award in Mental Health Awareness is assessed through a multiple-choice examination. Candidates have 25 minutes to complete the test and must answer all questions, with a score of 10 out of 15 or higher needed to pass.
Certification
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a personalised Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Understanding Mental Health in the Workplace (RQF).
