We are pleased to introduce our Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training course. This practical course, based on real-world scenarios, provides participants with essential skills for effectively using an AED during a sudden cardiac arrest. By the end of the training, participants will feel confident and capable of handling cardiac emergencies with an AED.
Who Should Attend?
This AED Training course is suitable for anyone interested in learning life-saving skills. It is especially beneficial for those in roles where access to an AED is common, such as office workers, teachers, fitness instructors, and care home staff. No prior experience is required, and the course is open to anyone wanting to expand their first aid knowledge and skills.
What You Will Learn
Participants will learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the procedures to follow in a cardiac arrest situation. This includes:
- Recognising the signs of cardiac arrest
- Performing effective chest compressions
- Safely using an AED
- Managing the situation after defibrillation while waiting for emergency services to arrive
Course Duration
Our AED Training course lasts for three hours, ensuring a comprehensive yet concise training experience. The course includes thorough theoretical instruction as well as plenty of hands-on practice with AEDs, keeping the learning process engaging.
Course Certification
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion accredited by Skills Training Group. While this certificate is not a formally recognised qualification, it demonstrates the participant’s commitment to emergency preparedness and their ability to operate an AED.
Assessment
The course involves continuous assessment throughout the training session. Instead of a final exam, trainers will evaluate participants’ understanding and application of the AED techniques covered. This approach allows for immediate feedback and correction, ensuring that every participant leaves the course feeling confident in their newly acquired skills.
